What To Expect

WHAT TO EXPECT:  Visiting a place for the first time can be scary. Having an idea of what to expect can help.

At Reformation, you’ll find a warm welcome and friendly people who are real. We are great sinners in need of a great Saviour, and we love worshipping Him!

Our worship aims to center on and submit to God’s Word as plainly as possible. On a typical Lord’s Day, we are called to worship from the Scriptures, we sing biblically and theologically rich songs of praise, we confess our sins, we pray, we partake of the Lord’s Supper, we read the Bible publicly, we preach and teach the Scripture, and we are dismissed having received the benediction of God’s grace. Our worship is sweet, yet serious; glad, yet glorifying Christ.

Our elders are godly, competent men who love Jesus, the Scriptures, sound doctrine, their families, and the family of God. Through their ministry, we are blessed with some of the most faithful, capable teachers to be found!

Practically, now: our people dress in normal, modest clothes that don’t distract others (you’ll see t-shirts, jeans, dresses, and bowties at Reformation, and that’s just fine). The outward appearance is not the focus; God is. Our aim is to be pleasing to the Lord, not to draw attention to ourselves. Our children stay in worship with us on Sundays, and we really don’t mind the noise. It’s a blessing to worship together!

We aren’t anywhere close to perfect, and we certainly haven’t figured it all out. But we serve a God who is sovereign and good, and we invite you to come grow in His grace with us!
